In addition to having Tyra Banks as Michelle Obama, the September fall fashion issue of Harper’s Bazaar features Karl Lagerfeld and other influential fashion designers living their fantasies.
The larger than life Lagerfeld chose to pose as a hardcore rapper. That entailed Phat Farm jeans and untied shoelaces!
“Believe it or not, I love rap,” Lagerfeld told Bazaar.
Giorgio Armani was captured playing the role of Fred Astaire. While Michael Kors posed as James Stewart as L.B. Jeffries in Hitchcock’s Rear Window.
Other designers who participated include Donna Karan, Donatella Versace, Alessandra Facchinetti, Alber Elbaz, Rodarte’s Laura and Kate Mulleavy and Roberto Cavalli.
You gotta love Lagerfeld, he is also known for his kind words of wisdom that I live by:
"Other people's (children) are fine. But not for me. I have never felt the need to be part of a family unit. Also, imagine if I had a child and he was mediocre. I would hate that. Then again, if he was better than me I might hate that too." -Karl Lagerfeld
and...
I never smoked. I never drank and I never took drugs. The funny thing is, nothing is more boring, people like this. For me, it's OK. But most of my friends, at least they smoke and drink.
